China Emphasizes Its Partnership with Argentina Is Non-Targeted
Wang made the remarks during a meeting with Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany. He encouraged both nations to “remain committed to the right direction of bilateral relations.”
Highlighting the economic complementarity between the two countries, Wang suggested expanding cooperation in areas including trade, technology, finance, and mining. He also expressed hope that Argentina would maintain a “fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises” and welcomed Argentine citizens to take advantage of China’s visa-free travel policy.
"China's development and growth represent a reinforcement of peace and stability in the world," Wang said, noting that 2026 marks the 54th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
"We never engage in geopolitical contests, nor do we ask other countries to take sides. China-Argentina cooperation is not targeted at any third party, nor should it be disrupted by any third-party factors," he added.
Wang’s comments come as Argentina, under President Javier Gerardo Milei, has been moving closer to the administration of US President Donald Trump.
