Provided by AGPThe report states that US intelligence has recently identified indications that China could have shipped shoulder-fired missile systems, known as MANPADS, to Iran. However, officials reportedly emphasized that the information is not conclusive and that there is no evidence these weapons have been deployed in the conflict.
In addition, assessments suggest that Chinese-linked companies may be enabling the transfer of dual-use goods to Iran, including chemicals, fuel components, and other materials that could be used in weapons production.
According to reports, these developments have raised concerns in Washington, as they may indicate a shift away from China’s historically cautious stance on directly providing military equipment to Tehran.
The report also suggests that internal discussions within China regarding possible weapons transfers reflect a growing perception that Beijing has strategic interests in the outcome of the wider conflict involving the United States and Israel.
Separately, US intelligence is said to have observed that Russia has provided Iran with satellite-based intelligence to assist in targeting, while avoiding the supply of direct military hardware in an apparent effort to prevent escalation with Washington.
